Company Overview
Rachel started Grateful Grahams out of her home in 2010. She wanted a way to give back to the community that so wonderfully supported her and her family when her dad was going through cancer treatment. She decided to share a simple message – that being grateful can have a profound positive impact on our lives. She also wanted a healthy treat for her kids, so she started making her own vegan grahams. Her grahams were soft and chewy and people couldn’t get enough of them. Grateful Grahams was born.
The Problem
Rachel was good at making delicious vegan treats, but she didn’t have much of a plan for branding and marketing her growing business. She didn’t have a clear way to communicate her message of gratitude, and she lacked the strategies for sharing her story. Her visuals – logo, product packaging, website, and marketing materials – didn’t match the personality of her brand. She needed a cohesive brand if she was to extend Grateful Grahams’ reach into national retail markets. She also needed an easy way for customers to purchase online.
The Plan
Rachel approached us to help build consistency and cohesiveness into her brand. We put together a comprehensive plan that started with digging deep into her purpose – to spread the message of gratitude. We used this simple message as the basis for our brand identity and marketing strategies. For example, we ran a Facebook campaign asking people what they were grateful for. We chose the most powerful entries and literally put those authentic messages of gratitude on every bag.
We made her tagline, “What are you grateful for?”, a more prominent part of her overall marketing. This simple question gets people thinking about the good things in their lives. It’s a subtle yet powerful way to spread positivity and love.
We also created a more effective website where customers could now browse and purchase grahams from the comfort of their homes, and share their gratitude on a “gratitude wall”.
The Results
Grateful Grahams’ look and feel are now consistent across all touchpoints – their product packaging, website, social media profiles, marketing materials, and promotional products are all cohesive and work together to tell a more compelling story.
Grateful Grahams has extended its reach considerably. They are now in over 125 retail outlets across the nation including Whole Foods and Kroger.
Over the last three years, Grateful Grahams has seen a continual increase in sales, both in retail outlets and online.
Grateful Grahams is now a brand it’s customers actively stand behind and support.

Thoughts From The Client
“I am not even sure where to start with how Focus 5 Design has revolutionized our brand. I am a dreamer and have a vision that seems to expand every day. Patrick and his team have been able to capture that in not only one of my businesses but in the four companies I own and operate. He has helped take Grateful Grahams from a small cookie company to a brand that is pushing for national placement. Focus 5 Design was instrumental in the creation of the Incubator Kitchen Collective brand strategy and helped create a streamlined process for new companies to find us and apply for the kitchen.
We are currently undergoing a brand restructure as we create The Gratitude Collective, and he has been there answering my questions and pushing me to get focused and pursue my vision. I appreciate Patrick’s ability to guide me through the brand-building process, and to cut through the clutter to help me focus on results.
It’s been amazing working with Focus 5 Design over the past 3 years and I can’t imagine having anyone else by my side as our dream and vision grows bigger!”
